For 23 years, Italian language has been taught as a second language at Uzbek State World Languages University and for 4 years as a first foreign language. There is an acute shortage of Italian language teaching staff in Uzbekistan. The goal of the project is to train staff at the levels of higher and postgraduate education, harmonization of the education systems with the European Higher Education Area and the Bologna Process, sharing of knowledge, methodologies, procedures, such as quality assurance; inter-institutional dialogue with European Higher Education Area countries.
