The project aimed to promote peaceful ways as a pathway to peace and human rights. Peace education involved guiding young people from conflict toward coexistence, from disrespect toward mutual honour, from hate toward love, from despair toward hope, and from selfishness toward living for the sake of others. It tried to nurture forgiveness in place of revenge and to inspire a culture where nonviolence becomes the foundation for positive transformation. The project aimed to engage students in discussions, sharing their ideas and perspectives to promote sustainable peace.
This project was driven by our awareness of global challenges, including war, discrimination, poverty, and human rights abuses, and our determination to address them by equipping young people with the tools to promote peace and nonviolent transformation. It aimed to stimulate students’ active participation in building more just, respectful, and cooperative societies. Promoting sustainable peace begins with youth, addressing students’ need for opportunities, training, and support to engage meaningfully in peacebuilding. The project focused on peace education by strengthening students' belief in their capacity to influence, shifting them from cycles of violence and division toward coexistence, respect, hope, and harmony.
