Objectives

By implemeting the project we wanted to improve students' awareness, scientific knowledge and practical skills related to natural energy and environment. We also wanted to make science learning more attractive through practical activities and to promote STEM education and inclusion by offering equal opportunities of learning to students from different social backgrounds., Our objectives have been directly linked to the priorities: improving students' scientific knowledge of green energy and environment issues related to environment and climate priority; making science learning more attractive and to increase the level of achievement in STEM; social inclusion by including in project activities students from disadvantaged areas.

Background

We applied for this project because our pupils have educational difficulties and in all our institutes we have special pupils with learning disabilities or simply slow learners. We have enriched their learning environment through this project and for this reason have been involved into every part of the project including planning. We have asked them, what they like about school and what they don't.They have organized their environment with teacher guidance. They have given tasks adjusted to their abilities. In this way we have been stimulating pupils to be more involved in education, to improve attitude towards the environment and to learn how to use efficiently ICT tools in education as much as they use it for fun. Also, we have focused on educating them in the spirit of tolerance and multiculturalism and this is why we decided to take part in a project based on international cooperation. Pupils experienced each partner school environment, culture, they got in contact with pupils, parents, local community people. The international cooperation has widen our pupils' perspectives about partners' environment and it has been easier for them to see with their own eyes different ecosystems also by travelling.
