By implementing the project, we aimed to raise awareness about environmental protection and the fight against climate change. We wanted to engage students, teachers, and associations in meaningful learning experiences that combined artistic expression with ecological education. Our goal was to make climate issues tangible through informal and innovative teaching tools like contemporary art, music, architecture, theatrical performances, exhibitions, and site visits. A key objective was to empower participants to become active agents of change by promoting green habits. At the same time, we aimed to develop key competences, including the use of ICT, critical thinking, collaboration, and language skills. Teachers were trained using creative tools to transfer knowledge more effectively. The final goal was to inspire long-lasting behavioural change and greater environmental awareness.
We applied for this project because we believed ecology was one of the most urgent social issues. Although students were interested in climate change, daily implementation of sustainable practices was limited. Our team had observed that traditional educational methods were not effective in motivating real change. After analysing the needs of our community, we decided to act and raise awareness at the European level. The EU’s goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050 and reducing emissions by 55% by 2030 strengthened our determination. We wanted to promote environmental responsibility in our schools and use art as a powerful, innovative tool to inspire action. By involving students in artistic activities—like musical composition, visual arts, graphic design, literature (poetry, theatre, essays) and architecture—we aimed to make climate issues tangible and immediate. The project also addressed the lack of reflective and artistic teaching methods in schools. Through this experience, we hoped to empower participants to engage emotionally, share their voices, and develop sustainable habits using the potential of ICT and artistic expression.
