The main goal of the ANALYST project was to bridge the gap between the skills offered by Higher Education and the evolving labour market requirements for intelligence, security, and geopolitical analysts. The specific objectives that the consortium wanted to achieve were: ● Improve the quality and relevance of higher education by defining a comprehensive Transnational Intelligence Analyst Job Profile, establishing a common language for competencies across the EU; ● Increase the number of analysts with high-quality, specialized qualifications recognized at a European level; ● Create a high-quality training curriculum providing advanced skills and competences, integrating both theoretical and practical operational aspects, fostering the "Capability Approach," thus moving beyond passive learning to active skill acquisition through practical simulations; ● Provide free, high-quality courses to the public to ensure broad accessibility and professionalization; ● Establish sharing mechanisms for best practices and networking through a dedicated European Intelligence Analyst Network.
The ANALYST project tackles societal needs on multiple levels, including bridging the gap between the skills offered by higher education and those demanded by the job market, particularly in the project's partner countries and the targeted sector. The project was designed to bridge this structural gap in the European Higher Education Area: the disconnection between theoretical academic training in Social Sciences/International Relations and the hyper-practical requirements of the private and public intelligence sectors. While the demand for Intelligence Analysts is increasing, there was no standardized European job profile or vocational training framework to guide students. This project addressed the need for a harmonized training pathway that translates academic research into professional excellence. By uniting Higher Education Institutions with VET specialists and with the support of private intelligence provider ANALYST addressed the necessity for a multidisciplinary approach. By establishing strong cooperation and knowledge-sharing mechanisms between these different sectors, the project aimed to train new intelligence analysts who can improve the capabilities of society as a whole.
