The main goal of B2Gs project is to contribute to the physical, and therefore to the mental health and overall well-being of pupils and students by returning to the popular childhood games and preferable sports. The project will apply a holistic approach combining sports, games and DIY green activities as a cross sectoral aspect in the school education program thus triggering youngsters’ interest in sports activities.
The consortium applied to B2Gs project to address the growing need for students to develop healthy habits, improve motor skills and counteract sedentary behaviour, which it is known to increasingly affect their cognitive functions and social-emotional skills, contributing to a lower school performance. Many schools reported limited integration of sport culture into daily learning, leaving students without structured opportunities to be active and to understand the benefits of physical activity for their well-being, strengthening teamwork, health awareness, inclusion and school success. The project also intended to respond to access inequalities to individual and group sports and facilities, ensuring that all students, regardless of background or socio-economic status, could participate to them.
