The project represents the second year of a three-year accreditation, the result of a long-term educational process promoted by various European organisations active in the field of youth work. The initiative was created with the aim of involving both youth workers and young people, with a particular focus on those living in socio-economically disadvantaged conditions or in rural and marginalised geographical areas (such as unemployed young people, users of social services, residents of small mountain villages or areas characterised by youth depopulation and a reduction in services), in a training and experiential programme based on the principles of Non-Formal Education. The main aim is to promote social inclusion and active citizenship among young people living in or near protected areas. The project aims to respond both to the need for young people to be protagonists of change in their communities and to the need to strengthen the quality of youth work by improving the skills of operators and expanding the educational and cultural offer. The second year consolidated what had been started in the first year, contributing both to the professional and educational growth of educators, volunteers and coordinators, and to the expansion and quality of opportunities for active participation for the young people involved. Through non-formal education methodologies, the project promoted learning focused on three dimensions – knowledge, skills and behaviours – structured along three educational paths defined by the key objectives set by the accreditation: 1. Protected areas as spaces for inclusion: promoting youth leadership in the sustainable and participatory development of local communities. 2. Natural capital and social enterprise: increasing skills related to social entrepreneurship and the active role of young people in the socio-economic development of territories. 3. Artistic expression for inclusion: using artistic and creative languages to enhance the expression and participation of young people, in continuity with previous experiences in Abruzzo and other European contexts. These general objectives are accompanied by the specific objectives for the second year: These general objectives are accompanied by specific objectives for the second year: · Implement the training programme through seven international mobility projects (four professional development activities and three youth exchanges), involving the local communities of Borrello, Roseto degli Abruzzi, Atri, Chieti (Italy), Stoumont (Belgium) and Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina). · Organise at least 1 thematic webinar to support the educational programme. · Involve young people and operators who live or work near protected natural areas, with priority given to those in disadvantaged situations. · Strengthen cooperation with international partners and local stakeholders. · Promote interaction with host communities through awareness-raising activities, sharing, field visits and thematic meetings. · Disseminate the results obtained to ensure visibility and sharing with external parties. · Evaluate the results achieved in relation to the set objectives in order to adapt and plan the next stages of the three-year programme in a targeted manner.
