CRAFTY: Creative Approaches for Fostering Youth Inclusion was created with the aim of supporting the professional development of youth workers through the introduction of creative thinking in the field of youth development and the practical experimentation of concrete tools to be used for this purpose. In a time of major changes, accompanied by a widespread sense of unpredictability and uncertainty—especially among young people—the project sought to offer useful tools to make the daily work of youth workers more effective. It aimed to build new ways of adapting to the environment, to experiment with techniques that foster inclusion, mutual understanding, and the creation of new meaning—supported by studies that show how creative experiences enable individuals to achieve personal well-being, in any area of interest. At the core of the CRAFTY project are the shared needs identified by the partners: • Strengthening the skills of youth workers and all staff involved in socio-educational activities • Developing problem-solving abilities • Encouraging openness to change and non-violent responses to conflict • Promoting the use of art, creativity, and hands-on practices to support self-realization and resilience, both personal and collective • Introducing the use of digital media to develop creative skills • Fostering mutual understanding, sharing, and support • The project also had several specific objectives: • Updating and empowering youth workers through dialogue and mutual exchange • Equipping participating partners with the knowledge, skills, and appropriate methodologies to work with young people using creative thinking approaches • Building a motivated partnership network aimed at raising the quality of non-formal education for youth • Raising awareness of the importance of creativity and innovation for social cohesion • Improving the quality of youth work and equipping youth workers with new competencies • Providing youth workers with the necessary tools to stimulate creative thinking among young people • Promoting reflection on the value of creative thinking for the development of youth competences • Supporting social cohesion and the growth of proactive and self-responsible individuals
