Objectives

The project “One Step Higher - Climbing the ladder of participation”, lasting 18 months, involved 8 organisations from Italy, Portugal, Georgia, Albania, Spain, North Macedonia, Greece, and Turkey. Through two main activities — a Study Visit in Portugal and a Training Course in Italy — the project aimed to co-create a shared model of youth participation, composed of methodologies, phases, and good practices for youth workers, with the goal of promoting and strengthening young people’s participation in democratic life. The specific objectives of the project were: - To develop the competences of youth workers and non-formal education methodologies related to youth participation; - To actively involve local administrators, bringing them closer to the needs of young people and making them an integral part of decision-making processes; - To strengthen youth organisations through an in-depth study of youth participation and the improvement of youth engagement methodologies; - To create a European network of educators to share experiences, resources, and practices on the topic of youth participation; - To foster connections between youth workers and local administrators at the European level; - To enhance the capacities of partner organisations and increase the number of activities addressed to young people; - To encourage the use of the Erasmus+ programme as a development tool for educators and young people; - To create sustainable networks and collaborations between organisations and countries for future projects and follow-up activities; - To promote the implementation of European policies and strategies on democratic and youth participation.
