The BREATH project aimed to enhance Italy's natural heritage through outdoor sports activities and hybrid events (in-person and digital), with the aim of promoting individual well-being and disseminating eco-sustainable practices among young people. The project's objectives were: - to raise awareness of the unique characteristics of parks and protected areas and the risks associated with climate change; - to increase participants' digital and civic skills, making them more aware eco-citizens; - to provide opportunities for youth activism and dialogue with decision-makers, in order to stimulate concrete local actions for environmental protection; - to include young people with fewer opportunities, ensuring equal access to quality educational experiences; - to strengthen a sense of European belonging, connecting environmental issues to EU priorities. The acronym B.R.E.A.T.H. (Behaviour, Roots, Engagement, Activism, Trials, Hope) condensed the project's vision and guided the narrative throughout the project's lifecycle. The "nature + digital" combination proved effective in reaching a geographically dispersed audience without sacrificing an immersive outdoor experience. The emphasis on trial and error ("Trials") encouraged the experimentation of micro-actions that could be replicated in other regions, expanding the project's scalability potential.
