Objectives

The ConnectART project set the following objectives: - To educate young people to adopt an inclusive approach toward people with disabilities and to become ambassadors of inclusion and diversity within their communities. - To train youth workers on the topics of disability and inclusion, following the World Health Organization’s approach, and on new artistic and digital methodologies. - To strengthen and expand the participating organizations through the creation of local and international networks.

Background

ConnectART was designed to help reduce discrimination against young people with disabilities, who still face numerous obstacles across Europe on their path toward full and active participation. At the same time, it developed from the need for youth workers to acquire new languages and tools to engage with young people and to foster the creation of inclusive environments, with particular attention to the use of digital and multimedia channels. Another identified need was to strengthen the participating organizations by enhancing their skills and expanding their networks both locally and at the European level.
