Objectives

By implementing this project, LCC International University aimed to advance our institutional strategy of internationalization in direct alignment with the objectives of the Erasmus+ programme. Our overarching ambition was to strengthen our global engagement, to create broader access for students, staff, and faculty to international learning opportunities, and to enhance the intercultural dialogue that defines our university community. Through this project, we intended not only to provide individual mobility opportunities but also to leverage Erasmus+ as a framework for building long-term academic, cultural, and institutional impact. We are deeply committed to an identity that embraces diversity at all levels. Currently, more than 500 students are enrolled at LCC, and 79% of them are international, representing nearly 60 countries. This cultural mosaic is mirrored in our program content, our innovative teaching methodologies, and our vibrant student life. By participating in Erasmus+, we sought to reinforce this distinctive global character by embedding internationalization even further into the daily academic, cultural, and operational life of our university. As an institution with an already broad network of partners—45 in North America, 32 in Europe, and 15 in Asia—our strategy is to both maintain and strengthen these partnerships while opening doors for greater mobility and collaboration within Europe. Erasmus+ offered us a unique opportunity to achieve this goal in a structured and sustainable way. For students, we wanted to expand the number and scope of academic exchange opportunities, enabling them to study abroad, gain global competencies, and experience European higher education systems firsthand. For staff and faculty, our goal was to provide professional training and international exposure, equipping them with the skills, perspectives, and networks necessary to enrich the quality of teaching, research, and administration at LCC. The specific objectives we wanted to achieve included: Expanding student mobility: By sending more students abroad and hosting incoming Erasmus+ students, we sought to provide transformative academic and cultural experiences that directly support personal growth, employability, and citizenship. Enhancing academic quality: Through exposure to different pedagogical approaches and integration of international content into our programs, we aimed to align our curriculum with both local and international quality standards. Supporting staff development: Mobility opportunities for faculty and administrative staff were designed to encourage intercultural competence, the adoption of innovative practices, and the strengthening of Erasmus+ values within our institution. Fostering intercultural dialogue: By increasing the diversity of voices, perspectives, and experiences on our campus, we sought to create an environment where meaningful cross-cultural conversations are part of daily university life. Raising institutional visibility: Active participation in Erasmus+ networks was intended to further elevate LCC’s international profile, positioning us as a strong contributor to the European Higher Education Area. Ultimately, this project was not limited to mobility statistics. Our ambition was to weave internationalization into the fabric of LCC International University’s long-term vision. We wanted to ensure that every member of our academic community—students, staff, and faculty alike—benefits from meaningful international experiences that enrich their education, professional capacity, and intercultural understanding. By doing so, we contribute not only to the advancement of our university but also to the broader objectives of Erasmus+: strengthening cooperation, fostering innovation, and preparing globally minded citizens for the challenges of the future. In short, through the implementation of this project, we pursued the goal of becoming a more global, connected, and resilient institution. We believe that the Erasmus+ framework has provided the tools, the partnerships, and the shared values to move closer to this vision, ensuring that LCC remains a place where diversity, excellence, and international collaboration flourish.
