Objectives

Through participation in the current Erasmus+ KA131 project, the Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) aims to integrate the international dimension in a spectre of the University's key initiatives, activities and services. The LSU joined the Erasmus Programme in 1999 and over the years the academic mobility numbers have been continually increasing. The LSU has successfully implemented both short-term and long-term mobility activities, including the Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP). The LSU involvement in the mobility projects under the Erasmus+ Programme has a significant effect on the implementation of the LSU institutional strategic objectives, in particular, (1) carrying out internationally recognised high-level research and experimental development in sport science, (2) conducting high-quality accessible, modern and research-based studies, and (3) increasing the international dimension and visibility of the University. In the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, the LSU has developed partnerships with over 90 European higher education institutions from 27 countries. Within the current Erasmus+ KA131 project, the LSU aimed to send 34 mobile students for studies and traineeships and 25 staff members for teaching and training for the development of their general and professional knowledge, skills and competencies.
