Objectives

In implementing this project, we sought to develop the functional and conceptual competencies of adult educators related to virtual and/or augmented reality and to explore the applicability of AI, VR, and AR in adult education. We introduced employees to virtual andragogy and how AI could be adapted and used in adult education. We discussed how organisations could empower adult educators to seek opportunities to integrate AI so that adult learners could receive high-quality learning activities based on the latest AI.

Background

- During the first small-scale project (2021-2023), we learned a lot about how to use digital skills and digital andragogy, However, while carrying out various project activities, we noticed that almost all adult educators lack understanding of the applicability of artificial intelligence in adult education. Therefore, this project will continue to expand the understanding of virtual andragogy and how AI could be applied and used in adult education, especially holograms, virtual reality and augmented reality. In order to prepare for future changes in virtual reality, we want to give professionals the opportunity to use new and innovative methods so that they can reach their target groups and successfully involve them in their activities. We want to empower adult educators to prepare for working with and in virtual reality and to understand the future of virtual reality and andragogy. While implementing our last small-scale project on digital tools, we found that most adult educators have no understanding of how virtual andragogy will change adult education. Therefore, in this project, we are initiating discussions, conferences and seminars that will focus on how AI will change the way we learn and think in adult education.
