Objectives

The EU – Georgia engagement under the Eastern Partnership (EaP) scheme was an example for the rest of the EaP countries as Georgia could be seen as the most stable EaP country along with Ukraine before Russia‘s recent invasion. In spite of Russia’s growing influence, Georgia used to be a “champion” in delivering reforms and is considered to have one of the most liberal and competitive business climates. Youngsters from Georgia, EaP countries and Eastern Europe are one of the main targets of Russia‘s soft power, growing influence and propaganda hence, we came up with the idea to develop and implement project in Georgia along with our young peers, with the continuous support of experienced partner organizations. One of the main goals of the project was to further promote the idea of the EaP initiative by bringing together youngsters from the countries where EaP was initiated and youngsters from EaP countries, as well as supporters of the EU enlargement and EaP. The European Union and the Eastern Partnership are now going through the most difficult time, yet with a cascade of political and humanitarian crises. We believe that empowered youth can become catalysts of change who can influence their peers in local communities and in partner countries to become engaged and further promote the EU and the EaP initiative. It was a high time to carry out our initiative since, problems remain unsolved throughout the Eastern Partnership countries and anti-European propaganda is growing rapidly especially after Russia‘s invesion in Ukraine. The main objectives and challanges addressed throughout the impelemntation of the Youth Exchange “Stronger Together“ were following: • Raising awareness regarding the success of the EaP through non-formal and formal means of communication; Promoting the EU and the EaP’s contribution to the region; Providing thorough understanding of four main objectives of the EaP - Political association; Economic integration; Mobility and Strengthened sector cooperation; • Providing opportunities for youth who can contribute to the thematic focus of the Youth Exchange and engage in discussions about the European Union and the Eastern Partnership cooperation. • Discussing the lack of democracy and transparency in post-Soviet space and to combat propaganda circulated in pro-Kremlin media that the six partner countries did not benefit from the Eastern Partnership initiative. • Raising awareness of the local community and newcomers about the opportunities offered by Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps - Georgia and partner countries are in urgent need of mobility projects related to the promotion of EaP/EU’s role in the region. • Further ecouraging cooperation, partnerships and good practice exchange among youth workers, Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) and partner organizations dealing with youth policy in European Union and Eastern Partnership countries by fostering inclusion through youth work as one of the main objectives of the Erasmus+ KA1 Action. • Sharing the knowledge and experience regarding the youth challenges and opportunities of the EaP in partner countries. • Exchanging good practices between partner organizations and reinforcing the capacities and international scope of the partner organizations; as well as, promoting integration learning. Youth Exchange “Stronger Together” provided a unique opportunity to our peers, YEAs, newcomers and youngsters with IDP/refugee background from EaP and the EU countries to discuss about the future of the EaP, to promote European values, to share good practice as well as establish contacts and expand their networks for the follow-up activities and initiatives.
