The DECODE project, part of the Erasmus+ youth exchange, was designed to empower young girls in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). Its goals were crafted to tackle gender bias and stereotypes, which often discourage girls from pursuing careers in these areas. The DECODE project realized several key project objectives, which are as follows, and definitely realized well in line with the initial scope of the project and its original goals, directly implicating the 30 participants of the youth exchange. Here is a clear summary of what the project has realized: The project contributed highly towards raising awareness of the 30 participants on gender bias and stereotypes in STEAM fields. The activities were designed to develop essential soft skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. These are actually key in both personal development and professional success within STEAM fields, and the feedback from the students pointed toward quite remarkable improvements. It also offered an increased cultural exchange platform and understanding that better positioned them with skills to work and collaborate in an improved manner within a diverse international environment. This program aspect was influential in that it allowed generating feelings of global community and mutual respect among the participants who represented diverse social contexts. The shift was important to the overall long-term goal of gender disparity reduction in those areas and was a direct result of the targeted activities and discussions facilitated during the exchange. Objectives of the DECODE Project: Awareness of Gender Bias: The project aimed to increase awareness among teenage girls about gender biases and stereotypes, particularly in their roles within family, education, and the workplace. The initiative encouraged them to identify and challenge these barriers within STEM fields. Encouraging Gender Equality: DECODE focused on educating participants about the importance of gender equality. Through engaging and informal educational methods, it helped them develop skills to recognize and address gender bias, empowering them to view these issues as challenges that can be navigated and overcome. Hands-On STEM Experience: The project provided practical experiences in STEM subjects, introducing participants to positive role models and real-world applications in these fields. This approach aimed to inspire the girls to consider further education and careers in STEAM. These goals align with broader global objectives like those in the United Nations Agenda 2030, aiming for gender equality. By educating and empowering its participants, the DECODE project hoped to inspire ongoing interest in STEAM fields among young girls, helping to close the gender gap in these disciplines
