The project aim was to improve reading habits in youth and promote the importance and joy of reading. The following particular objectives to achieve this aim were set: 1) Identify key components of gamification theory and good practice suitable for reading promotion activities and design a training course for librarians; 2) To provide a diverse perspective on the variety of gamification application in library setting targeted at youth; 3) To help develop activities for libraries from LT, LV and SLO using gamification methodology. The project aimed to update and supplement the knowledge of library specialists, to provide useful information on how to interest one of the most complex audiences - teenagers, young people. Therefore, in order to actualize reading promotion and diversify its form, librarians were offered to try the gamification methodology. The project also contributed to the specific objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme in the field of youth: - to increase the capacity of libraries to work within and along the field of youth and in turn adhere to improving the level of key competencies and skills of young people; - to reduce social exclusion; - to foster quality improvements in youth work, in particular through enhanced cooperation between organizations (libraries in this case) in the youth field.
