Objectives

OBJECTIVE As part of our Erasmus+ accreditation "2023-1-LU01-KA151-YOU-000146118," we, the European Association for the Eifel and Ardennes (EVEA), pursued the goal of opening up new perspectives for young people from different countries through cross-border learning mobility. Our activities are intended to strengthen their personal, social, and intercultural development and prepare them for a democratic and solidarity-based coexistence in Europe. Based on our historical mission – building a peaceful Europe through encounters and mutual understanding – we implemented 14 non-formal educational activities with around 400 young people and professionals during the project period. These included youth exchanges, preparatory meetings (APVs), study visits, and training measures for youth leaders. With the strategic focus of our accreditation (2022–2027), we aim to further develop the quality of our international youth work. Our goal is to provide young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, with long-term access to international learning experiences. We have defined six core objectives for the implementation of our measures: - Acquiring intercultural skills and fostering European awareness - Gaining language experience to improve communication - Engaging with nature, the environment, and sustainable development - Strengthening digital skills - Raising awareness of health, exercise, and nutrition - Getting to know and experiencing art and culture together We have consistently integrated these objectives into all our measures – through experiential methods, creative and participatory formats, and close collaboration with 18 partner organisations from 12 European countries. We have placed particular emphasis on contributing to the implementation of the EU Youth Strategy – particularly in the areas of inclusion and diversity, sustainability, digital transformation, and participation.
