Objectives

Novikontas Maritime College (hereinafter – NMC) participates in the Erasmus+ mobility programme with the aim of promoting the attractiveness of the maritime sector among young people, as well as improving students’ professional preparedness and academic performance. Participation in international internships and exchange programmes provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in an international environment, strengthen professional skills, and broaden their horizons, while at the same time enhancing their competitiveness in the labour market.International mobility has proven its effectiveness by fostering both students’ professional growth and employers’ satisfaction with the graduates’ readiness for work. Participation in the Erasmus+ programme also increases NMC’s visibility on the international level, especially among maritime companies, thereby strengthening the College’s role as a reliable educational partner. An important component of the Erasmus+ programme is staff mobility, which allows NMC’s academic and administrative staff to take part in training visits, exchange of experience, courses, and professional development activities abroad. Such activities contribute to the development of staff competencies, the acquisition of innovative teaching methods, and mutual knowledge transfer. They also help to establish new cooperation with partner institutions, which in the long run can expand internship and employment opportunities for NMC students and graduates.NMC’s goal is to continue developing and expanding international cooperation by establishing new contacts with representatives of the education and maritime sectors, thereby strengthening the College’s capacity and international competitiveness.
