By implementing the "Exploring Sustainable Futures: Empowering Young Voices" project, we aimed to empower young people to actively engage in discussions and debates about sustainability and their role in shaping a more sustainable future. The main objectives of the project were to provide a platform for young people to share their perspectives, ideas, and solutions related to sustainability and to promote a sense of agency and ownership among young people to contribute to sustainable development. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project sought to provide young people with opportunities to develop their critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. The initiative fostered intercultural learning and understanding by bringing together young people from different cultural and social backgrounds to engage in discussions and activities related to sustainability. The project provided young people with the necessary tools and skills to understand complex environmental issues and develop their own sustainability projects. The Youth Exchange brought together young people from different countries for a week-long program of activities, including interactive workshops, discussions, and interactive games, as well as visits to local organizations and initiatives working on sustainability. Through these activities, participants engaged in open and inclusive conversations about sustainability shared their perspectives and ideas, and developed their knowledge and understanding of environmental issues. In addition to the youth exchange, the project included a follow-up phase in which participants continued working on sustainability projects in their own communities. In the project's dissemination phase, the results of the project were shared with a wider audience, including local organizations, schools, and media. The project also included an evaluation phase, in which the impact of the project on the participants and the wider community was assessed. The initiative sought to promote sustainability and environmental awareness among young people and to empower them to become active agents of change in their communities. By providing young people with the necessary tools and skills to understand complex environmental issues, the project aimed to create a more informed and engaged citizenry, capable of contributing to a more sustainable future.
