The primary objective of the project was to foster greater gender equality within our communities by enhancing the gender sensitivity and professional skills of youth workers. As youth work providers and educators play quite an active role in promoting values, shaping attitudes and behaviors, and fostering positive social changes among young people this project helped youth workers understand and gave some tools and training to be more proactive and supportive, empowering young people who face discrimination. By becoming more knowledgeable and gender-sensitive, youth workers can provide better support, reduce gender-based violence, and contribute to creating a more inclusive and just society. The Objectives of our program were: - To enhance understanding and awareness regarding various aspects of gender, including norms, prejudices, mechanisms of discrimination, oppression, and violence, and their impact on both young individuals and society at large. - To disseminate real-life narratives and amplify awareness of the breadth of issues, particularly focusing on the experiences of young women and LGBTQ+ individuals, thereby fostering greater sensitivity towards gender-related concerns. - To examine the role of youth initiatives in catalysing positive transformations at personal, organisational, communal, societal, and European levels, and to inspire youth workers to actively engage in advancing gender equality efforts. - To explore non-formal learning methodologies and other resources aimed at fostering gender equality and equipping facilitators with the skills needed to create inclusive and supportive environments for young people from diverse backgrounds. - To strategise and execute awareness-raising initiatives that contribute to advancing gender equality within each respective community. - To collaboratively develop 5-6 youth projects under the Erasmus+ Youth Programme and European Solidarity Corps, ensuring the active participation of young individuals and emphasizing a strong gender perspective within each project idea.
