The primary objectives of the "Demokrātiņi" project were to impart a comprehensive understanding of democratic, political, and economic processes within the European Union to young people. This was achieved through accessible and engaging methods, encouraging active participation in discussions on democratic issues, and fostering a deeper comprehension of shared European values and fundamental rights. Additionally, the project aimed to heighten awareness among young individuals of their pivotal role in the evolution of a democratic Europe, enhance their sense of belonging to the European Union community, and bridge the gap between decision-makers and the youth, thereby bolstering democratic engagement. To captivate and sustain the interest of young participants, a diverse array of activities was meticulously organized, including quizzes, games, discussions, excursions, and film afternoons focused on democracy and European values. These varied activities effectively facilitated the project's objectives, offering insights into the European Union's structure, functions, and opportunities, examining the roles and responsibilities of state leaders, applying democratic principles in real-world scenarios, and incorporating social and political content into discussions.
