The implementing group, young people of the youth initiative organization "Talantu kalve" identified the need to make current outdoor events/activities in Ogre region, presenting to the youth the interaction of humans as living beings with nature, which, as it was thought, would stimulate young people's empathy towards nature. As a result, it would motivate young people to reflect on the choices they make on a daily basis, even at a primitive level, and act with care for animals, plants, fresh air and other inalienable gifts of nature. The initial goal of the youth participation project "Nature's Hands" was to promote awareness of environmental issues among young people through non-formal education methods. The implementing group considered the principle "young person to young person" to be an effective way of disseminating information, so they wanted to introduce their peers, who previously may not have shown interest in hiking, discussions, exploring the region, to this type of informal education and outdoor activities. Encouraging the proactivity of the participants and turning the energy of young people into positive results was also one of the results that the team aimed for during the project. Benefits of the participants by participating in the project, as it was planned and actually realized - new theoretical knowledge about the process of promoting sustainability in Ogre region and nowadays in general, knowledge about the preservation of living nature (classes in swamps and forests), expanded knowledge about the possibilities of using digital tools, strengthened skills of communication, self-presentation and opinion formulation and justification when communicating with peers and decision-makers. Before formulating the project idea, the youth team familiarized itself with the goals of European youth to make sure that the content of the project was created with reference to the European value system. The project concept was directly related to the 10th European Youth Goal - Sustainable Green Europe. The team's intention was to promote the initiative of young people to act as promoters of change in the field of environment and sustainable development. The task of the participants was to see and define an environmental problem in the local infrastructure, urban environment or business, and to think how a solution to this problem could be found. With the support of the team, the participants had the opportunity to create a dialogue with decision-makers, which was planned to have an impact on productivity and motivate young people to realize their plan - to be the creators of a sustainable green Europe. The knowledge necessary to achieve the goal was presented to the participants with adapted non-formal education methods (hikes, team games, informative lessons). This approach was based on the 8th youth goal - Quality learning. Therefore, during the course of the activities, face-to-face meetings of several young people took place, where the participants got to know each other, created dialogue and conversations, learned to cooperate and trust their partners. Approximately 100 young people were involved in the project, 60 of them were actual participants, 40 were recipients of information in the experience sharing activity in Ogre schools "youth to youth".
