We aimed to train our staff with high-quality, innovative skills and resources in rural alternative tourism and entrepreneurship to upskill adult learners and enhance their employment opportunities. We sought to adopt and promote eco-friendly entrepreneurial strategies to ensure sustainable development in rural areas and we also intended to improve our project design and management capabilities, fostering international collaboration and enhancing the quality and impact of our initiatives.
BALKANIA operates within the rich potential of rural areas to foster a sustainable society. Our projects and training programs focus on sustainable tourism, rural development, and the preservation of natural, cultural, and anthropological heritage in Macedonia and the Balkan region. By empowering disadvantaged adults and local communities, we enhance entrepreneurship, environmental care, and sustainable development, promoting alternatives to mass tourism for economic growth and social welfare.
