As part of this project, International Balkan University (IBU) collaborated with universities from 12 countries: Algeria, Bulgaria, Germany, Estonia, Spain, Italy, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Türkiye, and Kosovo, providing 52 participants with international mobility opportunities. The main objectives were to expand access to international experiences for students and staff, supporting their academic, professional, and personal development. This aligns with IBU’s broader internationalization strategy, which includes both welcoming international students and enabling our own community to benefit from mobility abroad. For staff, the goal was to exchange knowledge and learn from best practices at partner institutions, leading to individual growth and institutional improvement. For students, the project aimed to improve skills, increase employability, and encourage intercultural understanding. At the institutional level, the project aimed to strengthen IBU’s global presence and build long-term partnerships. Increased mobilities help deepen these relationships, as staff often return with new contacts and collaboration ideas. Strengthening academic ties also supports future joint projects, in line with the establishment of IBU’s new Projects and Research Office and the university’s broader goal of supporting cross-unit collaboration.
