The issue of equality and equal opportunities is becoming more and more important, because the unequal treatment of citizens disrupts relations in society and makes it difficult to achieve all the goals it aims for. Respect for human rights, the principles of equality and equal opportunities for all citizens are a prerequisite for the democratic and sustainable development of any society. The principle of equal opportunities is a basic human right and represents one of the basic values of the European Union. According to the European Charter on Gender Equality, equality between men and women/boys and girls establishes fundamental rights for all and fundamental values for every democracy. In order to be realized, this right should not only be legally recognized, but also be effectively applied to all spheres of life: political, social, economic and cultural, and be promoted among young people at an early age. However, despite numerous examples of public recognition and progress achieved, equal opportunities are still not a reality in everyday life. In practice men and women, boys and girls do not enjoy the same rights. Social, political, economic and cultural inequalities still exist. Such inequalities are the result of the social mentality, imposed due to numerous stereotypes present within the family, education, culture, etc. Girls and women still do not have equal access to opportunities and resources, over 95% of victims of violence are women and girls, more than 70% of bullying in schools is perpetrated against girls, and the most common victims of cyber violence are again girls. The unequal position of girls and boys is also reflected in the concept of "female" and "male" professions, in the role in the family, in management positions, in all spheres of public and political life. This situation continues the age of stereotypical gender roles that take away human dignity and prevent human development and equal access to resources and opportunities, as well as the equal enjoyment of all rights and responsibilities, which in turn leads to multiple discrimination not only in terms of equality of gender, but also in relation to: race, color, ethnic and social origin, religion and beliefs, political or other affiliations, belonging to national minorities, property ownership, origin, disability, age, sexual orientation or sociology-economic status. Starting from all that, as well as from the fact that the root of unequal opportunities lies above all in the traditional cultural and stereotypical patterns of understanding gender roles in the family from a very young age, as well as in the established social norms, the partner organizations, especially the young people from the organizations , through online communication expressed the need and interest in the realization of a project that will influence the change of attitudes among young people from three countries - The Republic of North Macedonia, the Republic of Bulgaria and Italy, and with which young people from the organizations will contribute to the promotion of European values and the principle of equal opportunities among their peers and friends in their home countries. The young participants, through creative and interactive workshops, increased their knowledge about the meaning, promotion and advocacy of the concept of equal opportunities, as one of the EU's fundamental values. GENERAL GOAL: To encourage and affirm the role of young people in the promotion and integration of the principle of equal opportunities in all areas of social life, as one of the basic principles of the EU.
