Our project "Breathe Clean, Live Clean" was a project consisting of one activity, a youth exchange in which we managed to gather 36 young people including 18 young people with fewer opportunities and 6 group leaders. The partner organizations represented the following European countries: North Macedonia, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Portugal and Spain. We created this project out of a desire to improve quality of life, protect public health, and promote awareness of this critical issue. The objectives of the project were the following: Investigate the root causes of air pollution and identify effective solutions to reduce their impact; To facilitate the exchange of knowledge between different regions and countries across Europe; To inspire and motivate local and international communities to take action on this critical issue; To promote the Erasmus+ and YouthPass program and to improve the abilities of the participants in the project; To encourage the creation of new project ideas and to establish long-term partnerships; To organize follow-up activities and to disseminate the results of the project. The objectives of our project were carefully planned to address key issues related to the topic and to provide a meaningful experience for all participants. With the implementation of our project, we managed to achieve the following achievements: We encouraged intercultural dialogue and learning and feeling European. By working together and exchanging experiences and knowledge about the issue that every country in Europe has, the participants got a sense of equality and inclusion because the issue of air pollution is common to everyone. We developed skills and attitudes of young people. The participants were actively involved in every part of the project starting with the preparation of the project application followed by periods of preparation, implementation and dissemination. Throughout the project, participants developed skills, abilities using informal and peer learning. European values were strengthened and prejudices and stereotypes were destroyed. The participants had the opportunity to meet and live with people coming from different backgrounds and regions of Europe. This opportunity created a space to learn more about each other's culture, tradition and created a space to feel the European values of non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality. Awareness of socially relevant topics was raised and thus engagement in society and active participation was stimulated. The opportunity to improve the environment, public health, and awareness of the problem represented by the topic has improved. Another important aspect was to give a chance to young people, especially those who are new to the Erasmus+ program or who are facing different challenges in their lives, to participate in an international project. For many, this may have been their first experience of traveling abroad and working in an international environment. We wanted to make sure that everyone, regardless of their background or the opportunities they face, could feel included and valued in this project. Now after the implementation of this project, we believe that the set goals were realistic and have been met. Also, the choice of the topic, partners and participants was a complete hit, and we worked together to achieve the set goals, as well as create results through which we will be able to extend the life of this project and disseminate it at future events. In the meantime, we have strengthened our cooperation with our partners and we are already preparing a new project which will be applied for the next deadline in October, and it is also working on a very important topic with a mutual need between the partners. Finally, we wanted the project to have a lasting impact. Our goal was not only to educate and inspire participants during the exchange, but also to encourage them to take action upon returning to their home countries. We hoped that the participants would continue to promote environmental awareness in their communities, spreading the knowledge and skills they acquired during the project. And finally, the decision to hold the project in Ohrid had a great impact not only on the local population, but also on tourists at the moment, who through our numerous activities outside and around the city had the opportunity to get to know the importance of the topic and the Erasmus+ opportunities.
