Objectives

Creating A Real Diverse Society (CARDS) sought to achieve an environment where young people from different nations came together to discuss the pressing issues facing society in accepting and including those who were different. By fostering open dialogue across cultural boundaries, this initiative played a crucial role in developing young people's social and emotional intelligence, while encouraging the exploration of diverse perspectives. The project aimed to host a diverse community without cultural prejudices, addressing unequal opportunities and access among different nationalities, sexualities, genders, education levels, and social classes, thereby contributing to a more inclusive mindset that is vital for their personal and collective growth. 1. To lead young people in experiencing perspectives of those who come from different backgrounds but have similar ideas about inclusion. It led young people in experiencing perspectives of those who came from different backgrounds but had similar ideas about inclusion. This experience was designed to strengthen empathy and critical thinking, essential traits in youth development. The initiative helped participants to learn how to see the world from others' points of view in order to understand why people acted the way they did. Such opportunities expanded their worldviews and provided a deeper understanding of how identity, culture, and society shape behavior. As youth encountered various narratives, they were encouraged to reflect on their values and assumptions, which is a key aspect of developing self-awareness and emotional maturity. 2. To host an environment where young people can come up with ideas of how they can implement inclusion in their own localities. The project also hosted an environment where young people could brainstorm and come up with practical solutions for implementing inclusion in their local communities. Young people are often at the forefront of innovation, and through CARDS, they had the chance to channel their creativity into meaningful action. This encouraged leadership development and problem-solving skills, giving them the tools to create change in their environments. By actively contributing to the social landscape, they honed their ability to be agents of positive change, further enhancing their sense of responsibility and agency. 3.To bring to light barriers people might face that hinder them from being included in other communities as they try to cope with life. Through its focus on addressing barriers that hindered inclusion, CARDS provided young people with the chance to develop a more inclusive mindset and become active participants in dismantling social exclusion. It nurtured their ability to offer support to others who faced challenges, fostering a spirit of solidarity and resilience. The project also promoted emotional intelligence by helping them understand how their actions and attitudes can impact the wellbeing of others. This developed their sense of social responsibility and encouraged cooperative behaviors. 4. To create a vox pop with young persons’ interest and knowledge of inclusion and exclusion. The initiative also created a vox pop that allowed young people to express their interests and knowledge about inclusion and exclusion, giving them ownership of the conversation. By choosing the topics themselves, they were able to focus on issues that directly resonated with them, deepening their engagement and passion for the subject matter. This empowerment helped boost their confidence and communication skills, while also raising awareness about the importance of inclusion in diverse contexts. 5.To find means to fight exclusion through the participants’ interests and experience by uniting under communities of people that hold similar values at heart. Moreover, CARDS provided young people with the tools to fight exclusion through their interests and experiences. By connecting with like-minded individuals who shared similar values, participants developed teamwork and collaboration skills. This sense of community not only helped combat feelings of isolation but also provided a safe space for young people to develop their voices and advocate for a more inclusive society. Lastly, the project introduced participants to the Erasmus+ programme, opening up opportunities for personal growth through the 8 key competences of the Youth Pass. This exposure to non-formal educational opportunities fostered their curiosity and encouraged lifelong learning. By promoting Erasmus+ programmes, CARDS helped young people envision a broader horizon for their futures, inspiring them to continue their non-formal educational journeys and actively pursue opportunities for growth and cultural exchange. Through all of these initiatives, CARDS played a significant role in developing the personal, social, and leadership skills of young people, equipping them to become more inclusive, compassionate, and proactive citizens.
