The primary aim of our project was to address the critical issue of cyberbullying within the Deaf community, particularly among Deaf young people, by creating safe online spaces and equipping youth workers with the necessary skills and tools to recognise, address, and prevent cyberbullying. We sought to empower Deaf youth workers through training and the development of resources tailored specifically to the needs of the Deaf community, acknowledging the unique challenges they face in online environments. The objectives of the project included raising awareness about the impact of cyberbullying on Deaf young people, developing effective tools and strategies to combat this issue, and fostering a deeper intercultural understanding among participants. We aimed to fill the information gap that often leaves Deaf young people excluded from general data and solutions due to language barriers and Deaf culture. By conducting a comprehensive survey, creating awareness-raising materials, and engaging in collaborative learning activities, we sought to provide Deaf youth workers with the skills and knowledge needed to advocate for better protection and support for Deaf young people on social media platforms. Additionally, we aimed to create a sustainable impact by ensuring that the tools and information developed during the project could be transferred to other organisations and used beyond the project's lifespan. The project also sought to encourage collaboration and the exchange of best practices among participating organisations, contributing to the broader mission of improving the quality of youth work across Europe. In summary, our project was designed to empower Deaf youth workers, enhance the safety and inclusivity of online spaces for Deaf young people, and foster ongoing collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the Deaf community. Through the successful achievement of these objectives, we aimed to make a lasting impact on the lives of Deaf young people and the organisations that support them.
