We aimed to achieve three main objectives by implementing this project. First, we wanted to provide the necessary resources and support mechanisms to help youth workers integrate ecological literacy into their educational processes. In this context, educational materials were developed for youth workers and training was provided on the use of these materials. Second, we aimed to increase environmental awareness among young people between the ages of 15-25 and to encourage sustainable behaviors and attitudes. Field trips, experiential learning opportunities and practical activities were organized to increase young people's awareness of ecological issues. In this way, young people were able to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and acquire environmentally friendly habits. Third, we aimed to encourage the development of innovative teaching approaches that integrate ecological literacy with different disciplines. In this context, project-based learning activities were created and young people's active participation was ensured. As a result of the project, young people became more conscious about understanding ecological problems better and producing solutions to these problems.
The main reason for applying for this project was the low level of ecological literacy among young people in the partner countries and the lack of sufficient educational materials and supporting programs on this subject. As ecological problems are increasing in today's world, it has become a great necessity for young people to gain environmental awareness and adopt sustainable behaviors. However, research has shown that young people do not have sufficient knowledge about environmental issues and have difficulty integrating this information into their daily lives. For this reason, the project aims to provide youth workers with educational materials and support mechanisms on ecological literacy, so that they can provide more effective education to young people. At the same time, field trips, practical activities and public awareness campaigns were carried out to increase young people's environmental awareness and encourage sustainable behaviors. The project aims to contribute to creating a more sustainable society in the long term by increasing young people's awareness of ecological problems.
