Objectives

Internationalisation remains a cornerstone of NHL Stenden’s commitment to delivering high-quality education and research with a global perspective. As the labor market and professional sectors continue to globalise, it is increasingly important for our students to develop an understanding of the international and intercultural dimensions of their disciplines. This applies to all students - whether they study abroad or in the Netherlands, and regardless of whether they are enrolled in Associate Degree’s, Bachelor's, or Master's programs. Through participation in the Erasmus+ programme, both students and staff have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of international activities, including exchanges, collaborative projects, and virtual or sustainable travel initiatives. Mobility is a vital component in developing the international and intercultural competencies identified in our Strategic Internationalisation Policy (see Annex A). Our extensive international network, including the participation in the European Universities Initiatives (EUI), Regional University Network European University (RUN-EU), offers rich and diverse experiences that go beyond what is available locally in the Northern region of the Netherlands. NHL Stenden actively supports and encourages both students and staff to seize these opportunities, thereby enriching their academic, professional, and personal development.
