Objectives

At THUAS, our vision is to develop Global Citizens and build a Network University. These ambitions are key drivers of this project. By participating in Erasmus+, we aim to advance the core pillars of our internationalisation, inclusion & diversity, and sustainability strategies, objectives that are fully aligned with the priorities of the Programme. Erasmus+, particularly through KA131, provides both the moral framework and financial means to strengthen the development of intercultural skills and embed them across our institution. Our overarching goal is that every THUAS student experiences at least one meaningful international learning opportunity during their studies. Studying or traineeships abroad offer an immersive cultural and academic experience, allowing students to acquire crucial employability skills such as intercultural communication, adaptability, and critical and creative thinking. These experiences foster inclusive mindsets, strengthen European and international perspectives, and enrich personal growth. Without Erasmus+, student mobility opportunities would be far more limited. Through Erasmus+, we seek to foster global citizenship, interdisciplinary collaboration, and inclusive learning environments; cornerstones of our educational vision. Erasmus+ enables us to translate these strategic goals into tangible learning and professional opportunities for both students and staff, not only through mobility but also through intercultural exchange and collaboration. With growing engagement, Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) have also proven to be an effective means of offering accessible and meaningful international opportunities to those unable to participate in longer-term mobility. Although many of our students come from outside Europe, THUAS is deeply committed to strengthening the European Higher Education Area and fostering a sense of European identity. Erasmus+ also contributes significantly to staff development, expanding opportunities for international mobility, professional growth, and joint initiatives. These synergies create new educational practices that benefit our community and the wider European Higher Education Area alike. Additionally, the Programme further supports our sustainability agenda by encouraging participants to choose environmentally responsible modes of travel, reducing the ecological footprint of mobility. Lastly, the fewer opportunities top-up closely aligns with our inclusion policy, ensuring equal access to international experiences at every level, regardless of background, breaking down barriers, and actively combating discrimination.
