Objectives

Participation in Key Action 1, Learning Mobility for Individuals, of the Erasmus+ programme is considered an essential condition for achieving Leiden University’s internationalisation strategy . To prepare our students optimally for an increasingly globalised world and a European continent of interdependent states, we provide them with an international environment in Leiden and with international opportunities abroad. The university’s ambition is to offer a high-quality international learning experience for all its students. An experience that is driven by diverse international classrooms, teacher training to effectively engage with a culturally diverse group of students, targeted support services for international students, a strong emphasis on community building, and a suite of mobility options. Our European University Alliance, Una Europa, has created new opportunities for both staff and students to create new educational projects amongst the member institutions, such as a joint programme (including a mandatory mobility window), staff mobility (both academic staff and professionals), and an increase of online collaboration projects (BIPs), COILs, VEX’s, etc.
