Objectives

The Erasmus+ programme plays an important role in achieving the vision of the Stichting Hogeschool der Kunsten Den Haag/University of the Arts The Hague, as well as the institution’s broader strategy for internationalisation and modernisation. The core values of the University - excellence, critical inquisitive attitude, innovation, tradition, international diversity, responsibility, and cooperation - form the foundation of our educational philosophy. Our internationalisation policy is focused on improving the quality of teaching and research, accompanied by professional development, while fostering a rich, inclusive academic community. By implementing the Erasmus+ programme, the University of the Arts The Hague aims to achieve the mission: “Art is of/is an incalculable value, both intrinsically and in terms of the quality of life. HdK Den Haag plays its part by educating artists who can play a prominent and inspiring role in the creation, development, performance and innovation in the arts in a global context.” Cooperation with partners, having a societal impact through learning and exchange of knowledge, bringing in different intercultural perspectives and international dimension into the curriculum and capacity building are some of the aspects that this programme helps to achieve. Cooperation with partners leading to the preparation of the application for other strategic projects, like ECOSENDA: environment and pedagogy; and Climate Truth Crisis: the role of young designers in environmental disinformation & future democracies. The Erasmus+ KA 131 project also sowed the seed of the European University Alliance, IN.TUNE, with eight conservatories and universities of the arts across Europe.
