Windesheim, as one of the largest Universities of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands wants to be an active player in the E(H)EA. Something that has been stated in our Erasmus Policy Statement since 2021. We believe that engagement of students and staff in European (and global) collaboration and mobilities not only contributes to the personal and professional development of the individual participants, but also contributes to making Windesheim a more international university of applied sciences. By doing so, Windesheim as an institution is able to further develop the E(H)EA together with its academic partners and various local, regional and national stakeholders such as the muncipalities of Zwolle and Almere, the provinces of Overijssel and Flevoland and of course with the National Agency Erasmus+ and NUFFIC. Offering incoming and outgoing student & staff participants the opportunity to spend a short or long period abroad enabling them to develop international and intercultural skills and knowledge and build an international network is the main drive for Windesheim to apply annually for KA131 funding. These mobilities not only have an individual impact that transpires long after the mobility period has taken place, but also has supported and continues to support the internationalisation process at Windesheim. With the knowledge and skills that the participants bring back to Windesheim after their mobility Windesheim can also learn and grow on a European level in all aspects of the organisation. Being able to provide additional support for participants with fewer opportunities has shown that Windesheim is still able the grow their number of participants. Over the years Windesheim has been able to establish a visibility among European (and global) higher education institutions which has lead in 2023 to an active participation in a European University Alliance. It can also be mentioend that over the course of the last years Windesheim has continiously grown significantly in numbers for outgoing and incoming participants which has als led to the fact that internationalisation as such is more prominent than the previous Erasmus-period.
