HKU’s profile highlights our ambition to address societal challenges through art and creativity. We consider immersion in another cultural, linguistic, and educational context a powerful catalyst for both personal and professional growth. International competencies foster innovation, strengthen the knowledge base of our professional field, and contribute to tackling societal issues. Art and creativity drive reflection and renewal, offering a universal language with unifying power. The Erasmus+ Programme supports the educational, professional, and personal development of participants across Europe and beyond. It contributes to sustainable growth, employment, social cohesion, and the strengthening of a European identity. Its specific objectives — promoting learning mobility, cooperation, inclusion, quality, creativity, and innovation — align closely with our own ambitions. In addition, Erasmus+ emphasises four horizontal priorities that are central to every project: inclusion & diversity, digitalisation, participation (including active citizenship), and Green Erasmus+ (sustainability). Our goals are fully aligned with Erasmus+ and embedded in the HKU Strategic Plan 2030 “Om de kunst!” (https://www.hku.nl/over-hku/beleid-kwaliteit/meerjarenstrategie-2030), launched on 14 January 2025. This strategy underscores our mission to prepare students for creative professional careers that have a meaningful impact on people and society, through arts education and practice-based research. Core values such as artistic excellence, inclusivity combined with excellence, creative technology, entrepreneurship, and the ambfition to make an impact regionally, nationally, and internationally form the strategic focus. Our aligned with Erasmus+ is also reflected in our European Policy statement. Please see: www.hku.nl/erasmusplus
