The Erasmus+ funds for student and staff mobility in higher education are essential to the implementation of our internationalization strategy. In the strategy period 2020-2024, our 5 main objectives for internationalization were: 1. To use internationalization opportunities to strengthen our education and research 2. To attract international students, participants and staff 3. To encourage international mobility of students, participants and staff 4. To expand and broaden strategic international partnerships 5. To build a truly international campus and community While these objectives have been further refined in our 2025 -2030 strategic period, our mission to encourage international collaborations and mobilities and to create a welcoming environment remain unchanged. The Erasmus+ program contributes to the abovementioned goals, as it facilitates mobilities, supports international trainings, and provides funds for community-building activities. Due to a high amount of unused staff mobility funds in Call 2022, we chose to only apply for student mobility in Call 2023. Although student mobility funds are available to all students, our Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BScBA) exchange program provides a steady number of student mobilities every year. The Erasmus+ funds have been an essential part of our BScBA exchange program since its inception in 2018. The BScBA program is fully taught in English and has an international focus, including a semester-long exchange which is a mandatory part of the program. The exchange semester is also essential in achieving the program’s learning objectives for personal development and practical relevance. For students with a lower budget, a European destination with Erasmus+ funding is the best (and sometimes the only) option to access this experience. For international students coming to Nyenrode, the Organizational Support budget allows us to host welcoming and networking events on campus. Providing opportunities for students to integrate and to feel welcome in the campus community and academic environment contributes to inclusion efforts, therefore contributing to our objective of building an international community on campus, and in turn attracting more international participants. By participating in this project, we also commit to following the ECHE guidelines and to ensuring that every student has the best experience possible during their mobility. This, along with our accreditations and other quality assurance practices, shows international students and partners that we are committed to offering high quality education in an inclusive environment. Our constant efforts to evaluate and improve mean we are always looking for ways to strengthen our education and research and to expand and broaden our international partnerships. The student mobility funds for Call 2023 contributed to our strategic objectives and the participant feedback is another invaluable moment for evaluation and improvement as we finalize the objectives for the next strategic period.
