Objectives

In the Strategic Plan of the University of Groningen, broadening access to the global international community for students and staff is a key priority. The KA171 programme contributes to this aim by enabling access to mobility opportunities both home and abroad. By stimulating mobility across diverse cultural, economic and academic backgrounds, the UG seeks to strengthen diversity as a cornerstone of our teaching and learning environment. Through KA171, the UG set out to: offer high-quality study abroad opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students across disciplines; welcome talented students whose presence enriches the international classroom; enable staff to teach or conduct research abroad, while also hosting international colleagues in Groningen, thus reinforcing existing ties and creating new sustainable partnerships; act as a dependable partner in mobility cooperation, ensuring a reliable and enriching experience for all participants. Through the KA171 programme, the UG not only enhances the international outlook of its own community, but also contributes to the wider objectives of Erasmus+ by fostering mutual understanding, capacity building and long-term cooperation with partner institutions.
