Internationalization is an important part of UU strategy because it equips students and staff with the competencies needed for the future in our increasingly globalized society. An international environment promotes a stimulating academic and intellectual climate, an open attitude among staff and students and the expansion of scientific knowledge; Internationalization is a requirement for the quality of education and research, and its societal impact: a better world. KA171 is a very relevant instrument in our Global Engagement strategy. KA171 staff mobilities contribute to solving global problems, which requires collaborating with partners in the Global South. Incoming students and staff from the Global south offer an important non-Eurocentric perspective in the international classroom at UU. The main objective is to enhance UU’s social impact by contributing to a sustainable world, offering non-western academics opportunities they may not have in their own academic environment, and sharing European values. It will enhance the diversity of UU’s knowledge outside the Eurocentric framework and contribute to our international visibility.
