With this project, the partners want to reach the following objectives: - to encourage VET staff to devote explicit time to promote sustainable and environmental skills, attitudes and values in VET curricula - to include SDGs topics in the curricula through active teaching (the protagonists are the students) and cross-curricula content (interdisciplinary knowledge in order to enable students to connect knowledge across different disciplines) - to include sustainable and green skills in the assessment
We applied for this project to respond to the increasing urgency of environmental degradation and the need to strengthen sustainability within VET. European initiatives such as the European Green Deal place new expectations on VET systems, influencing curricula, teaching methods and learning environments. Despite these developments, practical green awareness in VET remains insufficient. The main need identified was the lack of concrete tools and confidence among VET staff to integrate environmental and sustainability topics into their teaching. The project therefore aimed to raise awareness among educators and support them in embedding these themes in their curricula. By developing practical educational toolkits and learning materials, the project sought to equip students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to become environmentally responsible professionals. Overall, the project aimed to strengthen the role of sustainability within VET and help prepare a new generation of professionals committed to sustainable development.
