The main goal of the project "How nutrition affects our health and culture" was to bring young people from different cultural backgrounds together. We wanted to promote healthy eating habits and understanding between cultures. We aimed to gather 30 participants and 5 group leaders from Ukraine, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Romania, and Latvia. By doing this, we hoped to create a space where participants could learn about each other's food traditions, share ideas on sustainable eating, and appreciate cultural diversity. Key Results We Wanted: * Teach participants about healthy eating habits. * Increase understanding of how different cultures approach food and nutrition. * Improve skills like teamwork, leadership, and project management. * Strengthen communication and collaboration between different cultures. * Create a guide on healthy eating habits and cultural heritage for youth workers and young people. * Build lasting friendships and networks among participants from different countries. Objectives: * Develop Knowledge and Understanding of Healthy Nutrition and Cultural Heritage: ** Educate participants on why nutrition is important for physical and mental health. ** Explore the connections between food, culture, and heritage through interactive sessions and activities. * Encourage Sharing of Knowledge and Experiences: ** Facilitate the exchange of traditional recipes and cooking techniques from different cultures. ** Promote discussions on sustainable eating practices and how food choices affect the environment. * Foster Intercultural Understanding and Exchange: ** Create opportunities for participants to learn about and appreciate different cultural perspectives on food and nutrition. ** Organize intercultural evenings and activities to celebrate cultural diversity and foster mutual respect. * Promote Social Inclusion Among Young People: ** Ensure the participation of marginalized youth and those with fewer opportunities. ** Encourage an inclusive and supportive environment where all participants feel valued and respected. * Develop Personal and Professional Skills: ** Enhance participants' skills in teamwork, leadership, and project management through collaborative activities. ** Provide opportunities for participants to take on leadership roles and responsibilities within the project. * Engage in Non-Formal Learning: ** Use non-formal learning methods like workshops, group discussions, and practical activities to facilitate learning. ** Encourage participants to reflect on their learning experiences and apply new knowledge in their daily lives. * Create a Guide on Healthy Nutrition Habits and Cultural Heritage: ** Compile the knowledge and insights gained during the project into a comprehensive guide. ** Distribute the guide to youth workers, educators, and young people to promote healthy nutrition and cultural awareness. By achieving these objectives, we aimed to make a big impact on participants' understanding of nutrition and culture, while also building a sense of community and collaboration across countries.
