Objectives

"3EN in Youth Work" project idea has started on common needs for the partner organizations we met, based on our needs with obersvation of recent increase in young, single asylum seekers under the age of 25 in our communities. Our challenge and common need is and still are to help and support the young immigrants or asylum seekers who had recently received residence cards to build networks and make new connections. We noticed that The Council of Europe had advised Member States to utilize the potential of youth work, which employed comprehensive approaches to facilitate personal and social development and intercultural competency, in order to facilitate the integration and inclusion of young refugees transitioning to adulthood. Our effort sought to close this gap by assisting newly arriving young migrants and refugees in assimilating into social, educational, civic, and economic life. To achieve this, we worked to achieve on our following project goals: - shared best practices and experiences among 9 organizations and participants to help newly arrived young immigrants achieve social, educational, civic, and economic development. - enhanced the knowledge, abilities, and competences of youth workers to better support refugee/immigrant youth in local communities to adapt and integrate. - provided capacity development in youth work for the 9 organizations to better understand and address the needs of immigrant/refugee youth.
