According to Directive 2008/98/EC and CoE Recommendation Nr. 96, preventive environmental strategies are crucial to maintaining the sustainability of waste management. Eurostat statistics vividly demonstrated the disparities among Member States in terms of waste management. General EU values promote the active involvement of the young generation in environmental protection. In this regard, it is essential to educate organizations and youth workers in the interests of all generations. Furthermore, the local research shared among the partners revealed that there was a huge need to increase youth workers’ skills and knowledge in waste management. Therefore, the main needs revolved around enhancing the confidence of the young generation to take responsibility for their lives and adopt new strategies that combine various elements, such as mindfulness, eco-centric education, and climate justice. The training course, “Creating Leaders Environmentally Adapted to Needs,” aimed at fostering effective waste management and recognising the need for widespread engagement in environmental protection. In this regard, the project is intended to equip 40 youth workers with tools and strategies to effectively manage waste and comprehend the purposes of waste impact through promoting a sense of belonging to EU values. Additionally, the project played a significant role in creating a digital guide to best practices in terms of zero waste. Based on the needs of the partners’ volunteers and, in general, the young generation, we developed our objectives as follows: To investigate the causes and consequences of recycling rejection and develop relevant solutions. To comprehend the potential effects of waste management and evaluate its impacts from different angles. To take proactive actions in order to shift to waste management. To critically think about waste consultancy and its significant role in waste management. To become aware of various streams of waste management and their classifications. To investigate and develop different youth work methodologies for challenging poor waste management. To develop a sense of belonging to EU values through promoting diversity and inclusivity. To provide young people with active participation in meeting the needs of diverse communities and at the European level. To enhance organizational capacities and promote collaboration for sustainable and effective impact. To equip the participants with effective youth work methods, promoting innovation. To promote social inclusion, solidarity, and intercultural dialogue aligned with the objectives of the Erasmus+ programme. To encourage collaboration and coordination within a multicultural environment.
