DIY – building more systemic narratives is a continuation of a set of projects where we are developing a set of creative activities to build new emancipatory counter and alternative narratives. More specifically we want to give an important qualitative step in the new narratives build, to promote a message of union, inclusion, and diversity. We used theatre tools/methods to include an intersectional approach in our narratives, that will be able to represent the complex reality in a systemic level. In this way, we contribute for better tools that will support young people to tackle discrimination, extremism and polarisation by using human rights based narratives, contributing for a culture of solidarity and celebration of diversity. The aim of this project is to equip youth workers and (future) youth leaders with the necessary skills to help young people build up humanising narratives, and increase to their resistance and critical thinking skills, so as not to become attracted by extremist ideas, oppressive and hate driven narratives and groups. OBJECTIVES - To give specific tools to youth workers and youth to create story-lines that portraits the complexity of the reality, are humanising and express solidarity towards groups that are discriminated against - To mainstream the principles and pedagogical basis of human rights education and education for democratic citizenship (EDC/HRE Charter) in youth work -To make a situational analysis of violent radicalization threads and patterns in Europe and local realities -To identify the strategies to tackle hate speech, discrimination, and hostility on the local, national, and international levels -To support youth workers with methods and techniques how to use “We CAN” manual to make it more accessible for using in youth field and to promote media literacy -To develop counter and alternative narratives online and offline with the high level of youth participation -To develop creativity, critical thinking & proactive search for alternative solutions -To share and disseminate the practices of counter and alternative narratives through social media and conferences -To create follow-up projects in-line with EDC/HRE Charter contributing the similar causes
