Objectives

Collaboration and interaction with international organizations and experts is essential to our organization's ongoing development and success in developing and delivering quality lifelong learning opportunities for AL across Norway. Over the past 3 years we have made dedicated efforts and enormous changes in improving, developing and implementing online opportunities for ALs. Previous projects have helped us develop our capacity, our teaching methods and our quality assurance procedures. International interaction sharing best practice will help us achieve ongoing success. Through such projects FU teachers not only gain in professional development but they are also able to share, contribute and collaborate on ideas of best practice with EU educators from similar contexts. Interacting with fellow AL providers helps nurture a ‘win-win’ outcome of mutual gain. Exchange of ideas, strategies and knowledge better enables ongoing pursuit of best practice across borders, post-covid.

Background

Covid shook the world and, like many, our organization took enormous immediate action to implement online courses and e-learning options. The curve was steep and urgent but for the most part we managed to deliver some great products in response to our learner needs. We are immensely proud of our 'Inspiring Teachers' and their ability to inspire, however, we also feel that the ongoing challenges and provision of quality assured, online / distance AL education demands ongoing collaboration. We can tap into the expertise of colleagues within our own organization and also within the various state support systems - but more is necessary. Hence, tapping into and sharing the knowledge, creativity and innovations of colleagues, experts and organizations from around Europe is essential to our ongoing development and innovation in online course quality. The possibilities that Erasmus+ presents is therefore a vital opportunity and commonsense strategy to undertake.
