Background: Bergen School of Architecture, being a very small higher education institution, with only around 170 students, depend greatly on mobility and internalization to educate future architects that are equipped for the challenges that modern society is facing. Our strategy plan emphasizes the importance of broadening the horizons of our students and staff through international collaboration. Objectives: Student mobility is our main focus, we want to enable as many as possible of our students to go abroad. Participating in Erasmus+ makes this possible. To gain new knowledge, complement their education with new skills, strengthen cultural understanding and language skills, in addition to professional networks for their future career as architects are important aspects for our activities. For those not able to travel abroad as part of their study, we see the incoming exchange students as a very valuable resource, they bring their background and perspectives on the field of architecture with them, they show different skills and have different approach, something which will strengthen our own education. Internalization at home is a very important tool in our education. Staff mobility serves the same purposes, and during this period we have been able to increase our share of staff training and teaching. For staff teaching we are using the opportunity to bring in invited staff from enterprise. This has proven to be very well suited for a school like BAS where we emphasize that our teaching staff should be grounded bot in teaching and in practice. Staff training is a great tool to give new impulses and learn new skills for both our teachers, but also for our administrative and technical staff.
