Objectives

The Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO) is an internationally oriented institution with a student body of approximately 800. Each autumn, we welcome around 90 international students - half of whom are enrolled in full-degree programs, while the other half join AHO on exchange. In the spring semester, we receive an additional 15–20 exchange students. This strong international presence enriches our academic environment by introducing diverse perspectives, enhancing intercultural competence and language skills among students, and fostering connections that often evolve into future professional collaborations and friendships. At the same time, we actively encourage our own students to take advantage of mobility opportunities through our extensive network of partner institutions - many of which are part of the Erasmus+ program. Erasmus+ provides a robust and well-structured framework that facilitates both incoming and outgoing student and mobility, and supports the administrative processes involved. The program also plays a vital role in enabling staff mobility. In recent years, we have seen a marked increase in interest among academic and administrative staff to engage in exchanges with partner institutions. Through Erasmus+, we aim to continue supporting and expanding these opportunities, which have proven highly valuable for professional development and institutional collaboration. Furthermore, we have observed growing interest in Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs) and blended mobility formats among both students and staff. By participating in Erasmus+, we seek to nurture and strengthen these initiatives, which have already had a positive impact on our academic networks, curriculum development, and the individual participants involved.
