Objectives

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jn8f9tO-CCk The goal of the OVERCOME project was to make young people more aware of mental health issues linked to the COVID-19 pandemic and encourage healthy habits for both physical and mental well-being. Through interactive and multicultural informal education methods, the project involved participants in practical activities like hiking, team sports, yoga, meditation, and laugh therapy over the 11-day period. The project had three main objectives: (1) promoting small yet effective changes in behavior to tackle mental health issues related to the pandemic, (2) engaging young people in physical and mental learning activities, and (3) informing young people from partner communities about the importance of understanding mental health issues and promoting healthy habits through local events organized by project participants and supported by partner organizations. The OVERCOME project was in line with the goals of Erasmus+ for Youth, offering opportunities for informal learning through direct experiences. It aimed to boost the motivation, self-esteem, and initiative of the 60 young participants while promoting multiculturalism and tolerance. Additionally, it aimed to develop participants' English language skills and support their active involvement in global issues, especially those related to mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project also aimed to include young people with fewer opportunities, ensuring that everyone could benefit from this learning experience.
