The project focused on addressing the crucial need to help Ukrainian refugees integrate into communities in Norway and Poland. Both Beyond Borders (formally known as RE:Act Volda) in Norway and Logos Polska in Poland saw the importance of building social inclusion, cultural understanding, and environmental awareness for both displaced and local youth. Young refugees face significant challenges, such as social isolation, limited connection to host communities, and a lack of exposure to European values and sustainable practices, which often leave them feeling disconnected. By emphasising outdoor activities and environmentally friendly practices, this project creates welcoming spaces that support refugees and locals alike. These activities allow young people to bond, understand each other’s cultures, and gain essential skills that encourage both personal development and social connection. Through this approach, the project aims to foster a sense of belonging and support community growth, preparing youth for meaningful contributions to society and providing a foundation for long-term integration and environmental consciousness.
