Objectives

We aimed to improve our adult education quality and the learning experiences of participants by adopting the folk high school methods observed at our Danish partner institution with its 180-years teaching tradition. We also seeked to ifluence independence and personal growth among rural women in our community, supporting their communication and language skills, and broadening their perspectives through exposure to European diversity and culture. This strengthened their engagement in community

Background

Our project began after the principals of two folk high schools—Danish and Polish—connected at the Danish FHS General Assembly. Sharing a focus on sustainability education, we aimed to deepen understanding of folk high school pedagogy within the Grzybów team and the local community. The project promoted European identity through Grundtvigian traditions and highlighted the importance of environmental care, which is still not fully recognized in Poland, particularly in rural areas.
